The concept of a “Triad” is remarkable close to the approach we took at the CDEX approach at Whirlpool. Engineering Windows 7 : Engineering 7: A view from the bottom
In essence, structuring teams along diversity of perspective rather than functional lines has proven to be a very effective way to avoid irrelevant features, undiscovered bugs, and group think. It drives innovation and makes people appreciate other POVs. I talk about the CDEX approach briefly when discussing the work I did on restructuring IHS. From there, I developed the idea of the Magnificent Six. On an individual level, I also discuss the Triage of Skills, which aims in a similar direction, plus a Skills Matrix based on this thinking. |
